In an interview with Tasnim, Khaled Qaddoumi, the Hamas representative in Iran, highlighted the movement's stance on the US-Israeli attacks against Iran.
He stated that Hamas’s position is clear and unequivocal, saying the group has condemned the brutal and criminal Zionist-American aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people.
He also condemned the humanitarian disaster that occurred at a girls’ school in Iran’s southern city of Minab, noting that these incidents reflect the arrogance, criminal tendencies, and barbarism of the aggressive Zionist-American enemy.
The reality is that Iran's response to this aggression has been and continues to be powerful, commensurate with the scale of the arrogance and insolence of the Zionist-American enemy, Qaddoumi added. Hence, Hamas believes that Iran has every right to confront this aggression in any way it deems appropriate, he stated.
Qaddoumi emphasized the need for a unified stance among Muslim countries, noting that what is currently needed is undoubtedly unity within the Islamic Ummah. The positions of many scholars, as well as various political figures and elites in the Islamic world, demonstrate that the Islamic Ummah is eager for this unity and is keen to advance decisively and steadfastly against the Zionist regime, such that there is no room for doubt or ambiguity, he said.
The Hamas representative further noted that while some criticisms are being raised, it is up to the concerned parties to determine the appropriate response to the aggression they face. He reiterated that this criminal and brutal aggression by the Zionist-American forces is condemned and rejected, and all must stand against it, uniting in a single front to halt such aggression against the children of the Islamic Ummah and their brothers.
Qaddoumi stressed that “Iran is fighting today because it stands against oppression and alongside the Palestinian people,” adding that on the recent International Quds Day on March 13, the bond and solidarity between leadership and the people was evident in the mass rallies across Iran. Quds Day is a phenomenon where humanity has gathered under its banner, uniting against Zionist-American arrogance and domination, he explained.
In conclusion, the Hamas representative stated that there is no longer room for neutrality or ambiguous positions.
Today represents a battle between right and wrong, and the positions of right and wrong are clear, he stated.
It must be understood that resistance is justice; Gaza and the Al-Aqsa Stom operation represent justice, Qaddoumi stressed.
The US and the Zionist regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.
The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
