Iran Launches Qadr Missiles with Cluster Warheads at Israeli Targets

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - The 28th wave of retaliatory missile strikes by Iran has proven to be one of the heaviest in several respects, with reports of missile attacks on the occupied territories leading to significant reactions and protests in Israeli media.

Politics

The 28th wave of Iran’s missile operations took place on Sunday evening, and based on reports circulating in Israeli Telegram groups and channels, Israeli rescue forces had a very busy day.

In this 28th wave, at least 14 cases of missile launches were observed in the published images. If that number is taken as a baseline, it can be inferred that more than 20 missiles were likely launched in this wave. This indicates that the trend seen in previous days—where more than twenty missiles were launched in a single wave—not only has not diminished but seems to have intensified.

The targets of this wave were also diverse, hitting both within the occupied territories and against a number of US bases in the region.

Another significant point pertains to the types of missiles and warheads used. Reports emerged indicating that cluster warheads were utilized on Qadr missiles during this wave.

Although the use of such missiles cannot be claimed as completely unprecedented, it can certainly be characterized as uncommon. Previously, cluster warheads had mostly been seen on missiles like Khaybar and Khorramshahr.

The 28th wave of Iran’s retaliatory operation also included Emad missiles with heavy warheads—approximately one ton.

The US and the Zionist regime launched a large-scale military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In response, the Iranian Armed Forces have carried out retaliatory operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
