In a message posted on his X account on Thursday, Esmaeil Baqaei denounced the US and Israeli attacks as unprovoked and said they are not only claiming the lives of Iranian civilians but also sending shockwaves through international markets, increasing energy prices, destabilizing currencies, and undermining the purchasing power of people across the globe.
He stressed that for Iranians, however, the human cost is far greater, as the aggressors are deliberately striking civilian areas and locations to cause maximum suffering and loss of life.
“This savage, unprovoked, and utterly unjustified aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran extends far beyond the battlefield. It reverberates through global markets, driving up energy prices, destabilizing currencies, and eroding the purchasing power of ordinary people around the world,” Baqaei said.
“Yet for us Iranians, the cost is immeasurably higher: our people are being brutally slaughtered as the aggressors deliberately target civilian areas and any location they believe will inflict the maximum possible suffering and loss of life,” he added.
The United States and Zionist regime have launched a deadly military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei as well as senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.
The campaign has involved extensive strikes that have targeted military and civilian areas, resulting in significant casualties and damage.
The Iranian Armed Forces have carried out harsh retaliatory strikes, hitting the US and Israeli targets in the occupied territories and the regional countries with a barrage of missiles and drones.
