Iran, Gambia Discuss Expansion of Bilateral Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Gambia held a telephone conversation to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and international developments.

In the phone call on Tuesday, Sering Modou Njie, the new foreign minister of Gambia, congratulated Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, as well as the government and people of Iran on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

He also underscored the Gambian government’s determination to expand friendly relations and cooperation with Iran in all areas of mutual interest.

Araqchi, for his part, reciprocated the congratulations on the blessed month of Ramadan to the foreign minister, government and people of Gambia.

He expressed Iran’s readiness to develop bilateral relations as well as coordinate positions at the level of international organizations.

Apart from reviewing the ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation, the two diplomats also consulted on regional and international developments.
