Speaking at a graduation ceremony for military students, Major General Hatami referred to enemies’ claims of being invincible and described such assertions as false and pointless.
He said the same enemy had fought for 20 years in Vietnam and Afghanistan and ultimately withdrew in disgrace, adding that similar outcomes occurred in Iraq and other countries.
The commander stated that the US enters with claims and intimidation but always leaves in humiliation, stressing that the enemy’s defeat is certain. However, he noted that achieving this requires a clear understanding of the current global situation and the steadfastness and resistance of the Iranian nation.
Today’s war is far more complex and difficult than in the past, the Army chief warned, saying Iran is facing a hybrid war across political, economic, social, military, psychological and cognitive arenas.
Major General Hatami further said the enemy did not expect to face such firmness despite deploying warships to the region and issuing threats, adding that by divine grace and with the strong and perceptive leadership of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, a powerful and crushing response was delivered to the enemy.
He also described the enemy’s actions as part of a program referred to as “strategic attrition,” stating that its effort is to weaken Iran with each move.
However, the commander said that given Iran’s awareness of the enemy’s overall plan, it will prevent the realization of that objective.
He warned that the enemy seeks to exhaust and wear down the people, but Iran will strive to prevent this and will certainly succeed in that path.
