In his message addressed to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Darwish congratulated the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan and wished prosperity and success for the Islamic Republic of Iran. He then presented a comprehensive report on the latest status of the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
Referring to Hamas’s full commitment to the ceasefire, Darwish outlined clear and flagrant violations by the Zionist regime. According to the letter, these include daily attacks on Palestinian areas and the continued killing of Palestinian civilians, particularly women and children.
He also cited the arrest of Palestinians, the imposition of severe restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, obstruction of activities at the Rafah crossing and restrictions on the movement of Palestinian citizens, as well as preventing the reconstruction of vital infrastructure.
The the Hamas Shura Council chairman also stressed the need for serious efforts by mediators and the international community to compel the occupying Zionist regime to fulfill its obligations. These, he stated, include the immediate halt to killings, massacres and violations of the rights of the Palestinian people; adherence to the terms of the agreement regarding the entry of humanitarian aid and relief assistance to residents of the Gaza Strip; lifting restrictions related to the Rafah crossing and facilitating passenger movement; allowing the entry of fuel, equipment and machinery necessary for rebuilding infrastructure; observing humanitarian rules; and ending torture and mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners.
