Iran, IAEA Discuss Drafting Framework for Future Nuclear Talks

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi discussed the drafting of a framework for future negotiations.

During a telephone conversation on Wednesday, Araqchi and Grossi reviewed the latest developments related to the process of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States.

The Iranian foreign minister expressed appreciation for Grossi’s presence at the Geneva negotiations and stressed that Iran is focused on formulating an initial and coherent framework to advance upcoming talks.

For his part, the IAEA director general assessed the results of Tuesday’s meeting positively and announced the UN nuclear agency’s readiness to provide support and cooperation in the process of shaping a negotiating framework.

Reviewing the outcomes of the latest round of indirect talks between Iran and the US in Geneva, they talked about mechanisms and requirements for drafting a preliminary framework for negotiations.
