Araqchi, who has traveled to Geneva to take part in indirect Iran–US negotiations on nuclear issues and the removal of sanctions, met on Monday afternoon with his Omani counterpart Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi.
During the meeting, the viewpoints and considerations of Iran regarding nuclear issues and sanctions lifting were elaborated.
The Iranian foreign minister expressed appreciation for the good offices of Oman and the efforts of his Omani counterpart in helping advance the ongoing diplomatic process.
Araqchi underscored Iran’s resolve and seriousness in utilizing result-oriented diplomacy to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the Iranian nation and to preserve regional peace and stability.
For his part, Al Busaidi referred to the longstanding and friendly relations between Oman and Iran, as well as Iran’s role in maintaining and promoting peace and stability in the region.
He also praised Iran’s steadfastness in continuing the diplomatic path and expressed hope that the current round of talks would be successfully concluded.
