Pezeshkian Rejects Foreign Interference, Urges Peaceful Settlement of Regional Issues

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian denounced foreign interference in regional affairs, stressing that countries of the region are capable of resolving their differences through dialogue and cooperation and must pursue peaceful solutions without outside intervention.

Addressing a conference on investment opportunities and financing for rail and road corridors, held in Tehran on Saturday, Pezeshkian referred to efforts by regional leaders to strengthen security and governance, saying their actions to prevent tensions are worthy of appreciation.

He noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other regional countries are seeking to resolve issues through dialogue and cooperation.

The president added that Iran believes regional states could sit together and settle their problems without the need for foreign interference.

Pezeshkian also pointed to Iran’s relations with Russia, describing ties with the friendly and brotherly country as deep and extensive. He said the bilateral agreements on various projects are not merely symbolic but reflect a shared determination to implement them, adding that the agreements would be executed, operationalized swiftly, and that existing obstacles would be removed.

Iran’s approach toward cooperation with friendly and neighboring countries is a brotherly one, the president noted, emphasizing that Tehran views its neighbors not merely through a diplomatic lens but with a sense of fraternity. He said the goal is for the region and all its countries to be filled with joy, brotherhood and friendship.

He also expressed Iran’s firm resolve to develop the country’s vital transport arteries, saying the Islamic Republic is determined to operationalize the rail and road corridors designed as the nation’s key lifelines with strength, speed, precision, quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
