According to medical officials at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, the casualties occurred after Israeli regime fighter jets bombed a gathering of civilians at the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza.
At the same time, Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that Israeli regime aircraft struck areas in the southern city of Rafah where Israeli forces maintain military positions.
The correspondent added that Israeli regime helicopters also opened direct fire on the same military-occupied zones in Rafah.
Meanwhile, attention has shifted to the worsening humanitarian situation.
Despite more than three months having passed since the announcement of a ceasefire in Gaza, humanitarian conditions remain catastrophic, with over two million displaced people facing severe winter cold, lack of shelter, and the renewed threat of death from exposure, local authorities said.
On Thursday, Gaza’s Civil Defense warned that the enclave is experiencing an unprecedented disaster affecting all aspects of civilian life.
Mahmoud Bassal, spokesman for Gaza’s Civil Defense, said: “The Gaza Strip is facing an unprecedented catastrophe, starting with the lack of adequate shelter, locations that can be bombed at any moment, and hospitals that are on the verge of collapse.”
In a related development, Israeli regime forces targeted displaced Palestinians in southern Gaza.
The Israeli regime attacked the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, setting fire to several tents housing displaced Palestinians, medical sources said.
They added that a number of displaced civilians were wounded in the attack.
