Jafar Miadfar made the remarks in a television interview while discussing the damage caused by rioters to the country’s emergency fleet.
He stated that in the recent incidents, 54 paramedics were injured, adding that some of them are still hospitalized, while others are recovering.
Miadfar said that rioters attacked four hospitals.
He explained that 184 of the emergency organization's ambulances were targeted and damaged.
Out of this number, six ambulances were completely destroyed and burned.
Miadfar emphasized the operational impact of these attacks, saying that every ambulance taken out of service deprives 8 to 10 people in need of vital emergency care from receiving those services.
