Chile goalkeeper Madeleine Noelia Cortez Fuenzalida was named Player of the Match for the second time in a row, after she stopped 63% of Iran's shots, with 10 saves out of 16 shots in the first 30 minutes and set the course for a big win.
In the second match of the President's Cup Group II, Iran will clash with Congo in pursuit of its maiden win. Chile will also try to remain victorious against Kazakhstan.
Iran had suffered three losses against Poland, Germany and Japan at the 2023 IHF Women’s World Championship.
The matches of the Group II are held in Denmark's Frederikshavn.
