Zand Historical House in Iran's Qom

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Zand House or Haj Ali Khan Zand House is a 130-year-old late Qajar (1785–1925) era mansion located in the old texture of Qom, central Iran.

Tourism

The entrance of the house includes a short façade with geometric brickwork decorations.

The summer Shahneshin or Panjdari (five-window or –door living room) is located in the eastern wing.   The winter Shahneshin, which is larger, is located in the northern wing and the servant’s quarter is located in the western wing of the house.

The house has stone columns with decorative column heads in its terraces, elaborate brickwork, two wind towers and walnut and ash wood doors with intricate woodcarvings. A unique feature of the columns of this house is that no two columns share the same decorations.

This beautiful mansion is currently the location of the Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Museum and the Anthropology Museum of Qom. The house was registered as a National Heritage Site in 2001.
