In the match held in Tehran Azadi Stadium, Esteghlal defeated visiting team Sanat Naft 4-0.
Mohsen Karimi opened the scoring for Esteghlal in the 15th minute and Vouria Ghafouri made it 2-0 three minutes before the interval.
Dariush Shojaeian scored Esteghlal’s third goal in the 55th minute and Karimi scored once again in the 67th minute.
In Ahvaz, Persepolis drew 1-1 with Foolad.
Persepolis striker Godwin Mensha was on target in 14th minute and Rahim Zahivi cancelled out the goal in the 89th minute.
IPL second-placed Pars Jonoubi suffered a 2-0 home loss to Gostaresh Foolad and Tractor Sazi pummeled Esteghlal Khuzestan 3-0 in Tabriz.
Persepolis sits top of the IPL table with 37 points, eight points ahead of Pars Jonoubi.
Foolad remains third with 28 points.
