According to the IRGC Aerospace Force, the Sukhoi Su-22 crashed in the southern province of Fars at around 8 am local time Saturday.
The IRGC aircraft was performing military exercises when it crashed, the statement said, adding that the pilot was martyred in the accident.
The cause of the crash has not been announced yet.
