Tehran Optimistic about Nuclear Negotiations: Deputy FM

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed Tehran’s optimism about the nuclear talks with the sextet of world powers.

Speaking Monday in a press conference in Moscow, Amir Abdollahian said Iran is positive about the upcoming negotiations between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany).

Amir Abdollahian, at the same time, said positive outcome of the negotiations would depend on how prepared the other side is for taking practical steps.

"In line with that" he said “it is necessary all sanctions against Iran be lifted and the nuclear rights of the Iranian nation be fully upheld."

The Austrian capital of Vienna will bring representatives from Iran and the six world powers together on March 5 for a fresh round of expert-level talks over Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.

The forthcoming talks will be held on the sidelines of a meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors.

In the meantime, the two sides are gearing up for a meeting of political directors on March 17.

It comes after Iran and the G5+1 (also known as P5+1 or E3+3) wrapped up their latest nuclear talks in the Austrian capital on February 20.
