West in ‘Existential War’ against Iran: IRGC Spokesman

In comments on Sunday, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said the conflict is not a misunderstanding that could be resolved, but a struggle over Iran’s very existence and identity.

He warned that the enemy seeks to dismantle Iran, divide its territory and sever the Iranian people from their civilization.

Referring to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei’s recent remarks during a meeting with Armed Forces commanders, Mohebbi said enemy targets should be viewed in both material and non-material terms. While physical targets can be identified and struck, media, art and culture can be used to confront the enemy’s non-material assets and narratives, the spokesman explained

The West has been waging war against Iran for 73 years across cultural, military, civilizational and economic fields, the general added. Describing the current confrontation as decisive, Mohebbi argued that resistance could enable Iran to shape regional political and security arrangements and eventually become a superpower.

The IRGC spokesman said the adversary is now in a predicament, lacking the ability to sustain a war and achieve its objectives while facing reputational damage if it retreats.

He finally called for achieving “absolute deterrence” so that no one would dare attack Iran’s resources, territorial integrity or civilization, adding that this goal is attainable.
