Speaking at a national conference titled “The Alarm of Awakening from Iran to Palestine,” Koulivand said the bond between the Iranian and Palestinian nations goes beyond geographical boundaries, describing Palestine as a symbol of courage and dignity.
He cited the killing of more than 19,000 children in Gaza and over 1,600 medical personnel, along with the destruction of medical facilities and hospitals in Lebanon, as blatant violations of international humanitarian law.
Koulivand also highlighted Iran's humanitarian assistance to Lebanon, saying 500 critically injured victims of the pager explosions had been transferred to Iran for medical treatment, demonstrating the country's humanitarian solidarity and emergency response capabilities.
Referring to the 40-day US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, he praised young Iranian relief workers for their courage and dedication, saying their eagerness to participate in rescue operations recalled the spirit of sacrifice displayed by Iranian fighters during the 1980-1988 Iraqi-imposed war. He said Iranian rescuers had pulled 7,250 people from beneath rubble, while thousands of emergency workers had responded in the initial minutes of crises.
He further stated that Iran has defended the courage and sacrifices of its young people at international forums, including the International Red Cross and the United Nations, and has sought to communicate the realities of emergency response operations to the world.
Although the Red Crescent operates independently and maintains neutrality, it would never remain indifferent to injustice, he stressed.
