IRGC, Army Reaffirm Readiness to Defend Iran against Foreign Threats

In separate statements issued on the occasion of November 4, the National Day of Fighting against Global Arrogance, the two military forces described the occasion as a symbol of the Iranian nation's resistance to foreign domination and its determination to safeguard its independence.

The IRGC said US hostility toward Iran is rooted in longstanding strategic interests and has continued from the 1953 coup against the Iranian government to the present day. It said documents recovered from the former US embassy in Tehran demonstrated Washington's use of diplomatic channels as a means of espionage, infiltration and interference in Iran's internal affairs.

The IRGC also stressed that it is implementing Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei’s recent directives to strengthen deterrence, maintain combat readiness and update its target bank, pledging an immediate and effective response to any threat without geographical limitations.

It also warned the US, the Israeli regime and their regional and international allies against any new aggression, saying Iran's Armed Forces and nation would determine when an enemy attack ends.

The Iranian Army, meanwhile, emphasized that safeguarding national independence requires continuous vigilance, self-reliance, national cohesion and strong defense capabilities. Citing more than four decades of US conduct toward Iran, it said Washington's approach has consistently involved intervention, sanctions, threats, insecurity and military confrontation.

Both forces paid tribute to the historical events of November 4, including the exile of Imam Khomeini in 1964, the killing of students during the 1978 protests against the Pahlavi regime, and the takeover of the US embassy in Tehran by revolutionary students in 1979.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to the directives of Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei and to defending Iran against foreign interference and aggression.
