Civil Defence agency spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal said 13 people had been killed and about 60 wounded by Israeli fire and air strikes across Gaza over the past 24 hours.
“We transported three martyrs, including a child, following an Israeli air strike targeting a camp for displaced people in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis,” Bassal told AFP news agency.
The Civil Defence agency also reported that a fourth person was killed in an attack on a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians near Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Separately, an Israeli air strike killed one person and wounded three others in Gaza City's al-Rimal neighborhood, according to al-Shifa Hospital.
Israeli attacks force families from displacement camps
Reporting from Gaza City, Palestine, local accounts described a series of Israeli drone attacks targeting tents in al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, alongside machine-gun fire that killed three people, including a 7-year-old girl named Jouri.
All three victims were displaced Palestinians seeking refuge in the tents, while another woman was wounded as she prayed in a mosque in Jabaliya.
In a separate incident, a displacement camp in Shujayea, Gaza City, was set on fire, adding to the destruction confronting Palestinians already driven from their homes.
According to the Gaza Public Works Ministry, Israeli forces displaced 200 families within a few hours as troops continued firing live ammunition at tents and people, spreading fear and forcing residents to leave the area.
Meanwhile, explosions were reported in eastern parts of the Gaza Strip, where sources confirmed that the Israeli military continued destroying and bulldozing residential blocks.
Fire destroys Gaza displacement camp, displacing about 800 Palestinians
The attack on the displacement camp in Shujayea forced about 800 Palestinians from their shelters after Israeli forces set the site ablaze, according to the Palestinian Public Works Ministry.
The ministry said Israeli quadcopter drones set the camp on fire at around 8 p.m. local time (17:00 GMT) on Sunday.
The blaze continued past midnight, destroying tents that housed mostly women, children and elderly people.
The ministry called for international assistance to provide replacement tents for the displaced Palestinians, many of whom had already been forced to seek refuge away from their homes.
