The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Deputy Commander for Political Affairs General Yadollah Javani said some domestic factions have consistently focused on blaming Iran’s institutions and military forces instead of recognizing the strength and capabilities of the Iranian nation, a stance that, he argued, effectively leads to “exonerating the enemy.”
Referring to the period surrounding the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the IRGC deputy commander said some people at the time portrayed the display of Iran’s missile cities as a factor behind the agreement’s failure.
He stressed, however, that Iran’s defensive and missile capabilities are unrelated to its nuclear commitments, criticizing attempts to link the country’s defense program to the fate of the nuclear agreement.
General Javani also pointed to the recent US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, saying it demonstrated Iran’s ability to withstand American military power, contrary to predictions by those who had argued that the country would collapse if attacked by the US.
The war, he said, allowed Iran to demonstrate its defensive capabilities and resilience in the face of a major military adversary.
In conclusion, General Javani called on all patriotic Iranians to work toward strengthening national unity, preserving the country’s cohesion, and fostering solidarity among the people.
“Every patriotic Iranian should strive to strengthen national unity, the country’s cohesion, and solidarity among the people,” he said, warning against internal blame-shifting and the whitewashing of foreign adversaries, which he said undermine national cohesion.
