News outlets reported a major explosion and fire at an industrial plant involved in manufacturing electronic equipment in Kiryat Gat in the occupied territories.

The outlets added that the incident was primarily caused by a malfunction in the plant’s industrial equipment, leaving dozens of people injured.

The Zionist regime’s Ministry of Environmental Protection said hazardous gases might have been released in the area. It added that a hazardous materials assessment team was continuously monitoring and evaluating the incident to prevent an environmental disaster as quickly as possible.

In addition, the Zionist regime’s rescue organization announced in a statement that a helicopter had been dispatched to assess the situation and rescue people trapped in the area. It also urged residents to stay away from the site and take shelter in safe areas until further notices were issued.
