Carcinogenic Pollution Surges in Occupied Haifa amid Bazan Refinery Malfunction

The Zionist regime media have reported an abnormal increase in dangerous pollutant ‘benzene’, a carcinogenic substance, in the air over urban areas of the Haifa Bay region.

In response to the media, the Haifa Bay Municipalities Association stated that the average daily concentration of the hazardous pollutant at the monitoring station was approximately 69% above the standard, describing the incident as a serious event requiring immediate investigation.

The association also called on the Bazan Group to identify the source of the emissions without delay, explain what caused the incident, and specify what measures have been taken following the warnings.

According to experts, the incident was caused by a malfunction in the refinery’s equipment for measuring and controlling pollutant emissions. The refinery’s officials have so far been unable to identify the root cause of these malfunctions or find an appropriate solution to address them.
