Iran Condemns UK’s Baseless Allegations over Fairford Security Incident

In a statement released on Monday night, the Iranian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned claims by British officials attributing an alleged security incident at RAF Fairford to Iran, describing them as a “vile plot” to advance an anti-Iran campaign and evade accountability for Britain’s participation in the US-Israeli war of aggression against the Iranian nation.

“The British government cannot evade its political and legal responsibility for its allegations and their potential consequences by hiding behind vague expressions without providing solid evidence and reasons,” the statement said.

It added that resorting to phrases such as “highly likely” and “almost certainly” to create the impression that the attribution of the alleged incident to Iran is credible constitutes an obvious attempt to evade accountability for baseless accusations.

The Foreign Ministry said Britain’s record of fabricating security allegations against other countries is well known, noting that such claims have, in some cases, led to damaging tensions and conflicts in West Asia.

It stressed that the British government must be held accountable for persisting with an approach that undermines international peace and security.

The ministry firmly rejected the baseless accusations against Iran and held the British government, along with the architects and perpetrators of a false-flag operation, responsible for all consequences arising from the fabrication of these allegations.
