Speaking at the conference “Ecocide: The Silent War Crime” on Sunday, Eslami said Iranian fighters have delivered firm and harsh responses to the enemy. However, he emphasized that a fundamental difference between Iran and its adversaries is that Iran’s Armed Forces, guided by the teachings of Islam, target only military objectives and refrain from retaliating against civilians.
Addressing the enemies’ persistent lies and unjust narratives about Iran’s nuclear industry, Eslami said their disinformation campaign has no end. He also criticized the US for making a mockery of international organizations and the United Nations Charter, saying Washington’s interference in other nations’ affairs and its double standards in international institutions have become evident to everyone.
Eslami condemned attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which operate under the International Atomic Energy Agency’s safeguards system, questioning the international body’s failure to denounce them.
“Where in the international system can such a contradiction be seen?” he asked, adding that nuclear facilities whose destruction could have catastrophic consequences for people and the environment were being attacked during the US-Israeli war of aggression while the responsible international organization remained silent.
He further stated that recent attacks had targeted not only Iran’s nuclear facilities, whose destruction could have serious environmental consequences, but also non-nuclear sites, including refineries, petrochemical complexes and irradiation centers affiliated with the AEOI. These facilities, he noted, provide valuable services in healthcare, food safety and protecting public security.
According to Eslami, attacking centers where radioactive sources are used to conduct measurements, control safety processes and monitor production demonstrated the attackers’ disregard for human life, the environment and the rights of future generations.
Eslami then condemned repeated threats by US officials to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities using tactical weapons or even nuclear weapons, noting that such threats have been voiced from the podium of the United Nations. He also referred to the US president’s remarks at the UN General Assembly about destroying Iran’s civilization.
“They must know that the Iranian nation will never surrender,” Eslami underlined.
