Esmaeil Baqaei made the remarks in a post on his X account, saying he has held “productive talks” with Pakistan’s new Ambassador to Iran Imran Ahmed Siddiqui on Wednesday.

The relations between Iran and Pakistan are based upon deep historical commonalities and sustainable friendship, the spokesperson noted.

He added that Iran was the first country to recognize Pakistan immediately after its independence in 1947 and said Tehran is determined to promote bilateral relations in the interests of the two nations.
