Rezaei made the remarks in a post on his X account addressed to Bessent and other US officials, stressing that Iran will not retreat and that the Strait of Hormuz cannot be reopened through threats or pressure.

“Bessent’s delusional forecasts never had any credibility in the first place. His latest propaganda will have an equally short shelf life,” Rezaei wrote.

“You lost the military war. You will fail in the economic war, too. Hormuz will not be opened by threats or pressure. Iran will not back down,” he reminded the US officials.

Rezaei accompanied his post with a screenshot of a Bloomberg report titled “Scott Bessent's Rosy Forecasts Are Putting His Credibility at Risk,” which said the US Treasury secretary risked undermining his credibility by making optimistic predictions about gasoline prices, the housing market and the US economy.
