In comments after receiving the credentials of Denmark’s new ambassador to Iran, Pezeshkian stressed that Iran seeks to expand relations and interactions with Denmark.
The president also addressed perceptions that have emerged in some European countries about the Islamic Republic, saying such views do not accurately reflect the realities of Iran.
He also stressed Iran’s readiness to expand bilateral interactions and cooperation, saying Tehran welcomes cooperation, the exchange of experience and partnerships with different countries, including Denmark, in economic, scientific and cultural fields.
“We believe that expanding interactions in these areas can pave the way for deepening relations and strengthening ties between the two countries,” the president said.
Pezeshkian expressed hope that the Danish ambassador would take effective steps during his tenure in Tehran toward consolidating and expanding bilateral relations.
For his part, the ambassador emphasized his responsibility to convey the realities of Iran to his country.
The Danish envoy also expressed hope that he could play an effective role in developing and deepening relations between Iran and Denmark and help create new opportunities for expanding bilateral interactions and cooperation.
Denmark is committed to multilateralism and the rule of law in international relations, he added, noting that his diplomatic mission would also be based on these principles.
