Israeli Regime Tightens Gaza Blockade with New Trench, Embankment As Killings Continue

The newspaper reported Monday that Israeli forces are completing the new barrier and drilling into the ground at regular intervals, saying the measures are intended to prevent any tunnel from going undetected and crossing into Israeli-controlled territory.

The barrier is being built along the eastern side of the yellow line, which divides Gaza between areas controlled by the Israeli army and areas where Palestinians are permitted to move more freely.

The new fortifications further consolidate the Israeli regime’s control over territory inside the besieged enclave, while military operations remain focused on what Yedioth Ahronoth described as the continued targeting and assassination of Hamas members.

The report comes two and a half years after the regime's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared that Israel was “one step away from victory,” highlighting the gap between the Israeli leadership’s repeated claims of military success and the reality on the ground.

Despite the Israeli army’s extensive military presence across Gaza, “the basic reality remains unchanged: Hamas still governs the territory,” the newspaper said.

According to the report, Israeli forces currently control around 64% of the Gaza Strip, with two divisions deployed across roughly 30 military positions.

Meanwhile, Israeli attacks have continued to claim Palestinian lives despite the ceasefire that took effect on Oct. 10, 2025.

Gaza’s Health Ministry said Sunday that six Palestinians had been killed and three others had died from wounds caused by Israeli fire during the previous 24 hours.

The ministry said the Israeli army has killed at least 1,454 Palestinians and wounded nearly 5,100 others since the ceasefire began.

The ongoing casualties have added to the devastation caused by Israeli genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023.

According to Palestinian figures, more than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 175,000 wounded, while around 90% of the Gaza Strip’s infrastructure has been destroyed.
