In a decree issued on Sunday pursuant to Article 135 of the Constitution, Pezeshkian cited Bovard’s commitment, competence and executive experience as the basis for his appointment.

“It is expected that, relying on Almighty God and within the framework of the Constitution, the objectives of the Vision Document, the general policies approved by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and the Seventh Development Plan, while observing the ethical charter for officials of the national unity government and interacting with the honorable Council of Ministers, you will make every effort to advance the government’s objectives and address the country’s problems,” Pezeshkian reminded the caretaker minister in the decree.
