According to the Yemeni Armed Forces, the Saudi-led coalition carried out 94 airstrikes against Yemeni territories within 24 hours, compared with an earlier daily average of 40 to 50 strikes.
Since the latest escalation in fighting began, Riyadh has reportedly carried out approximately 1,350 airstrikes across Yemen.
The intensified bombardment killed at least two Yemeni civilians and wounded more than five others, while Yemeni forces and popular committees continued their advance against Saudi-backed factions on the ground.
In a significant battlefield development, Yemeni forces captured the strategic Al-Rasen mountain range in Taiz province.
The advance represents a major step toward tightening the siege of Taiz and pushing Saudi-backed forces out of surrounding areas.
Field reports also indicate that Yemeni forces are pursuing localized agreements to avoid further fighting in populated areas.
Negotiations are reportedly underway between tribal figures in the Al-Hujariyyah district and military commanders to facilitate a secure entry into the city of Al-Turba while protecting its residents.
Meanwhile, Yemeni forces destroyed a key supply bridge connecting Saudi-backed territories with the southern city of Aden, cutting an important logistical route used by opposing factions.
The official spokesperson for the Yemeni government in Sana’a has called on residents of Taiz to unite with Yemeni fighters to expel occupying forces and complete the liberation of the province.
The developments in Taiz are also closely tied to the wider struggle over Yemen’s southwestern coastline and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
A consolidation of Yemeni control over Taiz would strengthen the forces’ existing positions along the Red Sea coast and reduce the ability of Saudi-backed factions to use the province as a launching point for future offensives.
The escalation comes after the Sana’a administration announced on July 20 that it was imposing a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia in response to the nearly 12-year siege imposed on Yemen.
In recent weeks, the Yemeni military has also announced several naval operations against ships linked to Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea, saying the operations were intended to enforce the blockade and put pressure on Riyadh’s energy exports.
