Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinian Olive Harvesters Across Nablus Governorate

According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the attacks targeted olive harvesters in Beita, Jamma’in, Awarta, Asira al-Qibliya, Beit Furik and Deir Sharaf, as Palestinian farmers worked to gather their seasonal crop.

Palestinian security sources cited by Wafa, said that the settlers physically assaulted the farmers, injuring one Palestinian in Beita, south of Nablus, while a man and his wife sustained bruises and wounds in Deir Sharaf, west of the city.

The violence also extended to the agricultural areas around Beita, where settlers attacked farmers in the Jabal Al-Arma area while they were picking olives and fired live ammunition toward them, although no injuries were reported in that particular incident.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces fired sound bombs and tear gas at Palestinian villagers and foreign activists participating in the olive harvest, according to the Palestinian sources cited by Wafa.

The attacks came as Palestinian farmers continued the annual olive harvest, a crucial agricultural season that has repeatedly been disrupted by settler attacks and restrictions on access to farmland.

Beyond the fields, Israeli military raids and settler attacks were also reported in and around Palestinian communities in the Nablus area, adding to the pressure on residents and farmers seeking to remain on and cultivate their lands.

The developments are part of a broader pattern of escalating settler violence documented across the occupied West Bank, with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reporting more than 1,600 settler attacks resulting in Palestinian casualties or property damage between January and August 2026.

OCHA said the attacks during that period affected 275 Palestinian communities, nearly matching the 279 communities affected throughout all of 2025.
