In a telephone conversation with Mirziyoyev on Tuesday, Pezeshkian said Iran is determined to further strengthen ties with Uzbekistan through joint efforts, describing relations with neighboring, friendly and like-minded countries as a priority of Tehran’s foreign policy.

The Iranian president also called for expanding cooperation between Tehran and Tashkent and strengthening people-to-people ties.

For his part, Mirziyoyev said relations between Iran and Uzbekistan are steadily expanding in various fields, stressing his country’s determination to further promote bilateral cooperation through diplomatic exchanges and consultations.

The Uzbek president also praised Pezeshkian’s efforts to promote peace, stability and development amid a sensitive and complex regional and international situation.

He underscored the importance of increasing diplomatic contacts and exchanges between the two countries to advance their common interests.

Mirziyoyev also congratulated Pezeshkian on his birthday, wishing him health and success in carrying out his presidential responsibilities. He further asked the Iranian president to convey his greetings to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.
