In a message ahead of the anniversary, Qalibaf described Iran-China relations as being rooted in “mutual respect, constructive interaction and deep understanding between the two nations,” saying their shared civilizational heritage provides a strong basis for expanding ties.

He also highlighted the 10th anniversary of the elevation of bilateral relations to a “comprehensive strategic partnership” and the fifth anniversary of the signing of the 25-year comprehensive cooperation program, saying the milestones reflect the political will of the two countries’ authorities to pursue long-term cooperation.

Qalibaf said Iran has demonstrated the depth of its strength and resilience following the third imposed war against the country launched by the US and the Zionist regime, expressing hope that the experience would open a new chapter in Tehran’s relations with friendly states, particularly China.

He said Iran seeks to develop mechanisms with China under the 25-year cooperation program that would not only deepen and accelerate bilateral interaction but also contribute to shaping a new regional order.

Qalibaf stressed the important role of parliaments in strengthening ties between nations and called for greater cooperation between the Iranian Parliament and China’s National People’s Congress. He noted that parliamentary relations have not developed in line with the countries’ comprehensive strategic partnership and said measures should be taken to expand them.

He proposed broader exchanges of parliamentary delegations, stronger cooperation between specialized committees and regular dialogue between lawmakers as key avenues for deepening Tehran-Beijing relations.

The Iranian Parliament speaker also praised China’s achievements in economic, scientific, technological and social development, saying the country’s experience in long-term planning and national development highlights the importance of legislative institutions in creating a suitable legal and institutional environment for sustainable progress.

Amid rapid changes and complex challenges in the international system, Qalibaf said Iran and China could use their legislative capacities to support multilateralism, greater fairness in international relations, respect for cultural diversity and cooperation among independent countries.

He concluded that Iran-China ties extend beyond political and economic cooperation, describing them as an example of interaction between two major Asian civilizations that can serve as a model for dialogue among civilizations and cooperation based on shared interests.
