Speaking at a Sunday session of the Parliament, Hossein Ali Hajideligani said the three-urgency motion had been submitted to the presiding board some time ago and is now ready to be introduced if Parliament speaker allows it to be discussed.

“Given the circumstances facing the country and the aggression that the enemy has launched against us on two occasions, remaining in the NPT brings us nothing but losses,” the MP said.

He added that Iran has recently seen the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors refer the country’s case to the UN Security Council.

“We should not suffer further losses because of this, and it seems that perhaps we need to withdraw from the NPT so that we can manage our own affairs ourselves,” he said.
