Iran, S. Korea Discuss Regional Developments

In a telephone conversation on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his South Korean counterpart Cho Hyun held consultations on the latest developments in the region.

The phone call came a few days after South Korea said it was reviewing options for contributing to freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has warned Seoul that any military presence or participation in operations in the strategic waterway would be viewed as direct support for US aggression against Iran and could have “serious consequences,” while urging South Korea not to succumb to US pressure.
