Speaking to reporters on Wednesday about the IRGC Navy’s capture of a US unmanned submarine in the Strait of Hormuz, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said Iran’s power, authority and management over the strategic waterway have now become “realized, certain and demonstrable.”
He stated that the Islamic Republic will use this capability to respond to enemy aggression.
He added that any vessel seeking to pass through the strait without taking Iran’s management of the waterway into account “will definitely not be able to pass through.”
Regarding the presence of US warships in the Persian Gulf before the start of the US-Israeli war of aggression, the IRGC spokesperson said that around 30 to 40 US vessels and warships had been deployed inside the Persian Gulf.
“Today, not even a single one of them is present in this area, and US warships have withdrawn at least 400 kilometers from the Strait of Hormuz,” he said.
Mohebbi further stressed that Iran is capable of striking the enemy even at long distances by using new weapons and missiles.
“We also hit an aircraft carrier a few days ago at a distance of about 500 kilometers,” he said, adding, “We have reached a point where if the enemy hits two or three of our targets, we will respond strongly with 20 targets.”
“The Islamic Republic will use this power to respond to the enemy’s aggression and make the enemy regret continuing its aggression,” Mohebbi warned.
