The operation was carried out using dozens of ballistic missiles and drones and targeted Aramco facilities in Abha, Najran and Jizan, as well as the Khamis Mushait air base, according to a statement by Yemen’s Armed Forces.

The forces said the strikes were accurate and caused heavy damage to the targeted sites.

Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for Yemen’s Armed Forces, said the operation was conducted in response to intensified Saudi-led air attacks against Yemen.

The statement said the Saudi-led coalition had carried out 121 airstrikes over the past three days against areas including Marib, Al-Bayda, Hudaydah, Taiz and Al-Jawf.

Yemen’s Armed Forces said the operation was part of their continued response to aggression against Yemen, adding that attacks against Saudi military positions and sites would continue until what they described as the lifting of the blockade.

“Operations deep inside Saudi Arabia and against its military gathering centers will continue, and until the aggression stops and the blockade is lifted, we will implement the equation of blockade for blockade,” the statement said.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy confirmed that several energy facilities in the southern part of the country had been targeted in attacks on Tuesday morning.

The ministry said the attacks caused fires at several locations and led to the temporary suspension of some operations.

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry also confirmed attacks targeting facilities in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jizan and Najran, saying that several people were wounded.

Yemen’s Armed Forces said the attacks were carried out in response to Saudi air operations, and accused Riyadh of being responsible for any further escalation.

The forces also said that the “blockade for blockade and escalation for escalation” equation would remain in place until the end of what they called the aggression and the lifting of the blockade on Yemen.
