Smart Desalination Plant Inaugurated South of Iran

The facility, known as Iran’s first smart desalination plant, was completed and became operational in less than a year. It uses reverse osmosis (RO) technology along with a domestically developed real-time monitoring system.

The project, inaugurated in the presence of Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi, aims to help ensure a sustainable water supply for the city of Asaluyeh and surrounding areas.

The first phase of the desalination plant has a production capacity of 5,000 cubic meters of water per day, with plans in place to expand its capacity to 10,000 cubic meters per day.

The facility is also equipped with self-cleaning pretreatment systems and, for the first time in Iran, a fully domestically developed real-time monitoring system designed to ensure the stability and quality of water production.
