Several explosions were heard from the direction of the Persian Gulf in the vicinity of Kharg Island hours ago.

According to a Tasnim correspondent on Kharg Island, a small Iranian oil tanker was targeted by a US military missile attack six nautical miles from the island on Saturday morning.

The tanker, which was in the anchorage area off Kharg Island, was hit by four projectiles fired by US forces.

Local sources said, fortunately, the incident caused no casualties and that the tanker’s crew members were in the process of evacuating the vessel.

Relevant authorities are investigating the extent of the damage and the precise circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details will be released later.
