In comments at a speech marking Air Defense Day at Tehran’s Friday prayers, Brigadier General Alireza Elhami said Iran’s Armed Forces have demonstrated their capabilities during the recent US-Israeli war of aggression by relying on “100-percent Iranian capabilities.”

He added that the country’s air defense industry has developed equipment based on indigenous knowledge without relying on foreign sources.

The air defense systems were produced and further developed during the war and deployed on the battlefield, where they were used to destroy hostile aircraft, the commander stated.

“The achievements are the result of the indigenous knowledge of your sons,” General Elhami told the Iranian people, stressing that the country’s experience has shown that even advanced enemy aircraft are not guaranteed to return safely after entering the battlefield.

“Today, we proudly say that the Army’s air defense has become self-sufficient in supplying its equipment and weapons and is managing the war with them,” he said, attributing the achievement to young defense scientists, knowledge-based companies, advanced universities and the experience gained by the Armed Forces on the battlefield.

General Elhami also said Iran’s national power in the recent war was demonstrated through a combination of courageous leadership, national cohesion, popular support and the readiness of the Armed Forces.
