No Place for US in Region’s Future: Iran’s SNSC Chief

Rezaei made the remarks at a meeting with Faiq Zaidan, president of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council, held in Tehran on Tuesday.
The Iranian official said the Islamic Republic seeks an independent and strong Iraq, emphasizing the importance of allowing regional countries to determine their own future without outside interference.
“The countries of the region will decide about their own future, and the US will have no place in the region’s future,” Rezaei said.
He also called for the situation of anti-Iranian groups stationed along the borders of Iran and Iraq to be addressed and determined.
For his part, the Iraqi judicial official expressed appreciation for the support provided by Iran.
Zidan conveyed the greetings of Iraqi officials to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei and paid tribute to the memories of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
He also stressed the importance of regional cooperation and the need to ensure security along the common border between Iran and Iraq.
