Non-Implementation of Qisas Punishment through Obtaining the Consent of the Next of Kin

Obtaining the consent of the next of kin and the non-implementation of the punishment of qisas for 67 individuals sentenced to qisas nationwide, from 21 March to 21 June 2026, of which 21 cases have ended in peace and reconciliation as a result of the efforts of Dispute Resolution Branches across the country.

Reconciliation as a Result of the Efforts of the Dispute Resolution Council

Reconciliation and settlement achieved in 44/14 percent of concluded, reconcilable cases in Dispute Resolution Branches nationwide from 21 March to 21 June 2026;

Release of 4,373 prisoners and prevention of the imprisonment of 201 individuals as a result of achieving reconciliation, through the efforts of Dispute Resolution Council branches stationed in prisons and peace mediators (Peace Companions) across the country from 21 March to 21 June 2026.

Release from Prison through the Assistance of Benefactors and the Efforts of the Blood Money (Diyyah) Committee

The release of 2,407 prisoners convicted of unintentional offenses from prisons across the country from 21 March to 21 June 2026, through the assistance of the Blood Money (Diyyah) Committee and charitable benefactors, with payments exceeding 11,114 billion Rials.

Leave and Release through the Use of Leniency Mechanisms

Approval of pardon and release of 1,235 individuals and sentence reduction for 2,108 convicted persons nationwide on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir (June 4, 2026). It should be noted that among those granted clemency were 96 women, 46 foreign nationals, 1 security convict, and 6 offenders aged 18 years or younger.

The release of 20,338 prisoners nationwide through the application of legal leniency measures and judicial facilities from 21 March to 21 June 2026;

Issuance of more than 37,962 cases of alternative punishments to imprisonment by judges nationwide, from 21 March to 21 June 2026;

117,855 prisoners nationwide benefiting from more than 304,483 instances of prison leave, from 21 March to 21 June 2026;

The release of 4,397 eligible prisoners nationwide from 21 March to 21 June 2026, through the use of electronic monitoring (electronic ankle bracelets).

Visits to Prisons, Oversight of the Rights of Prisoners and Clients of the Judiciary, and Facilitation of Electronic Judicial Proceedings

Meetings held and requests reviewed for 624,987 individuals referring to judicial complexes nationwide by Chief Justices of provincial courts, prosecutors, and other judicial officials from 21 March to 21 June 2026, with the necessary orders issued accordingly;

Review of 243 public petitions by judges and judicial officials nationwide through the establishment of public service desks in mosques, prayer halls (Mosallas), and other venues from 21 March to 21 June 2026;

Provision of consultation and responses to the requests of 3,059 individuals who referred in person to the General Department of Public Communications of the Judiciary from 21 March to 21 June 2026, and meetings with and review of the requests of 2,230 of these individuals by the Director General and the judges assigned to this Directorate General.

Responding to 11362 requests registered in the Judiciary’s Public Communications System (SAME’) from 21 March to 21 June 2026;

Conducting more than 28,271 prison visits by judges nationwide and holding meetings with 99,395 prisoners from 21 March to 21 June 2026, resulting in the issuance of orders granting prison leave to more than 63,100 prisoners, orders for the release of more than 24,056 prisoners, approval of more than 7,456 requests for employment, and approval of the application of legal leniency measures for more than 22,058 prisoners;

Holding more than 109,318 electronic judicial proceedings for prisoners in civil and criminal courts nationwide from 21 March to 21 June 2026.

Conducting 901 video visits between prisoners and their families in prisons across the country.

Allocation of 1,140,415 appointments to clients electronically and without in-person attendance, through the electronic appointment scheduling system for referral to branches and centralized units for enforcement of judgments, from 21 March to 21 June 2026;

Issuance of 878,333 certificates of no criminal record to applicants electronically and without in-person attendance, through the online system for registering requests for certificates of no criminal record, from 21 March to 21 June 2026.

Education, Vocational Training, Employment of Prisoners, and Support for their Families

Conducting vocational training and employment courses for more than 26189 prisoners, from 21 March to 21 June 2026;

Providing support, medical, and educational services to more than 50431 families of prisoners nationwide through Prisoners’ Support Associations;

Employment of more than 63,728 prisoners from 21 March to 21 June 2026, with monthly wages paid to them.

Construction of 2,000-Megawatt Solar Power Plants to Empower Beneficiaries of the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation

April 20, 2026- according to a report by the Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation, solar power plants with a total capacity of up to 2,000 megawatts will be constructed nationwide with the aim of empowering beneficiaries supported by the Foundation, in cooperation with Capital Investment Power and Kish Free Zone Development Company.

Establishment of the National Platform for Online Judicial Services

April 21, 2026- according to the report of the Center for Electronic Judicial Services Offices, a national and modern platform for providing online judicial services was launched, relying on a new regulatory model and with the active participation of knowledge-based companies and the private sector. This platform is designed to facilitate access to judicial services for members of the public and reduce in-person visits to courts.

Inauguration of the Largest Cancer Treatment Hospital in the Country

June 2, 2026- the new building of the Cancer Institute Hospital of Iran, serving as the country’s scientific hub for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of various types of cancer, was inaugurated. The 18-story building has a floor area of 60,000 square meters. It is regarded as the largest cancer treatment hospital in the country and the Middle East and was constructed with the participation of charitable donors. The facility has 37 specialized departments, 11 imaging and radiotherapy units, and 96 chemotherapy beds. The construction cost of the project is estimated at approximately 120.000 billion Rials, and the cost of equipping the medical facility is estimated at 46,000 billion Rials.

Iran among the World’s Top 20 Scientific-Producing Countries; Leading in the Growth Rate of Scientific Impact

May 10, 2026- according to the head of the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC), Iran recorded the highest growth rate among the world’s top 20 countries in terms of scientific output, based on the field-normalized citation impact indicator. This rate reached 12/1 percent in 2024. This achievement indicates that Iranian research has gained greater international visibility than in the past and that the country’s scientific impact is improving.
