In a post on his X account on Monday, Gharibabadi lashed out at Ben-Gvir for simultaneously advocating the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza and the construction of settlements across the territory.
“The minister of domestic security of the Zionist regime of Israel has set a ‘nightly quota’ for killing in Gaza: 30 to 40 people,” Gharibabadi wrote.
“This Zionist criminal simultaneously speaks of expelling Palestinians and settlement construction throughout Gaza,” he added.
“These confessions must be recorded and preserved for the Day of Judgment and the trial of these criminals,” the Iranian deputy minister stated.
Far-right Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has said that Israeli forces should “kill 30 or 40” people in Gaza every night and go beyond “those who pose a danger … at that particular moment”.
Ben-Gvir made the comments to Rom Braslavski – a former Israeli captive held in Gaza as the Israeli regime waged a genocidal war on the territory in October 2023 – in a podcast episode that surfaced on Sunday and was shared widely across Palestinian media.
“There are people there who are not worthy of life. They shouldn’t live. They’re not even people,” Ben-Gvir added while calling for the targeted killings of Palestinians in Gaza.
The remarks are the latest in a long record of extreme statements from Ben-Gvir, who sits in Netanyahu’s coalition government and controls the Israeli regime’s police and prison services.
