Araqchi and Talabani held a telephone conversation on Tuesday, during which they discussed ways to further strengthen relations between Iran and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, particularly Sulaymaniyah, with a focus on expanding economic and commercial cooperation.

The Iranian foreign minister expressed appreciation to the Iraqi government and people for their hospitality toward Arbaeen pilgrims, particularly in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The two sides also emphasized the need to enhance security coordination and cooperation to safeguard their common borders, ensure stability in border areas and effectively counter terrorist threats, based on the security agreement between Iran and Iraq.
