Some sources reported early Saturday that Saudi Arabia was targeted by Yemeni hypersonic missiles.

The Telegram channel Al-Yamannet reported that it was the second time in the last few hours that Saudi Arabia was targeted by a severe attack by the Yemenis.

It reported a combined attack by Yemenis using ballistic missiles and drones, stressing that these attacks are continuing.

Meanwhile, media sources reported explosions in the city of Jizan, southwestern Saudi Arabia, with some saying more than 5 explosions shook the city. Following the attack, columns of smoke rose in Jizan and power outages were reported in several areas of the city.

There were also reports of massive explosions in the Saudi port city of Yanbu, the city of Dhamad, and the Khamis Mushait air base, south of the country.

According to Arab media reports, Yemeni missiles also targeted the Hay Al-Matar area near Abdullah Airport in Saudi Arabia.

Arab sources reported that Jeddah Airport suspended its flights after the Yemeni attacks.

Flight tracking stations reported chaos in flights and the inability of a number of planes to land at airports in southern Saudi Arabia.

Saudi authorities issued directives prohibiting residents and residents of the country from photographing “sensitive centers” and publishing their images.

Yemeni sources compared the intensity of the morning attacks on Saudi Arabia to Iran’s attacks on US military targets in Arab countries.

Yemen’s Armed Forces carried out the missile and strikes against Saudi targets in response to aggression waged by the kingdom on Yemen’s lifeline port city of Al-Hudaydah.

The strikes were carried out in early Saturday after the Saudi military staged a number of attacks targeting a facility in Al-Hudaydah in western Yemen and also targeted the country’s Kamran Island, prompting Yemeni air defenses to force Saudi warplanes to leave Yemen’s airspace.

Reacting to the aggression, Yemen’s foreign ministry had warned Saudi Arabia that the kingdom would bear responsibility for the consequences of the aggression.

“The Saudi regime bears the consequences for any developments that will occur as a result of its criminal step,” the ministry said.

It denounced Riyadh for choosing aggression instead of responding to Sana’a’s demand for an end to the former’s drawn-out blockade against the impoverished Arab Peninsula nation.

“Instead of complying with the rightful and just demand to lift the blockade on Yemen, the Saudi regime has committed a major folly that will cost it dearly,” the statement read.

The latest attacks, it added, would alter the nature of the confrontation.

“By targeting Al-Hudaydah, the equation of ‘escalation for escalation’ will be the title of the next phase," the ministry added.

Meanwhile, Hazem al-Assad, a senior member of the Political Bureau of Yemen’s popular resistance Ansarullah movement, also warned of retaliation following the strikes.

“Port for port, airport for airport, and every escalation will be met with a greater escalation," he said.

On Thursday, Yemen’s Armed Forces had said they would continue retaliatory naval operations against Saudi targets and maintain Sana’a’s “siege for a siege” equation, following an operation targeting two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea.
