The IRGC said in a statement released on Friday night that the Iranian people's steadfast presence and support have served as the driving force behind the country's military operations, echoing remarks by martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei that public backing fuels the missiles of Iran's fighters and guarantees their victories.
According to the statement, two oil tankers attempted to transit a mined route south of the Strait of Hormuz after being misled by US intelligence agencies. The IRGC said both vessels exploded and were engulfed in extensive fires.
The IRGC Navy stressed that the Strait of Hormuz has become highly unsafe and remains completely closed because of the "provocations of the child-killing US army." It added that until the US ends its military aggression, no shipments of chemical fertilizer, oil, or natural gas would be allowed to pass through the region.
The statement also warned commercial vessels not to be deceived into entering the mined route, saying doing so would endanger not only their cargo but, more importantly, the lives of their crews.
