Qalibaf Vows Revenge on Martyred Leader’s Assassins

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf made the remarks in a message issued after the funeral procession of martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in Tehran on Monday, thanking the Iranian people for their magnificent and historic turnout.

He said the profound sorrow over the loss of the martyred Leader, together with the final day of the presence of his blessed body in the capital, was transformed by the people into "an epic of awareness and resolve," giving fresh momentum to the path toward the ultimate victory of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Muslim world.

Qalibaf said the Iranian people, who have stood behind the Islamic Revolution for 47 years, have over the past four months chanted "Death to America" and "Death to Israel" every night, expressing their hatred for the assassins of the martyred Leader and demanding revenge.

"The realization of God's promise is certain," he said, adding that those who violated Iran's territorial integrity and killed the country's martyrs, "especially the Leader of the Ummah," will be punished for their crimes.

He further said the final stage of revenge against the arrogant powers will be realized through the liberation of al-Quds.

The Parliament speaker also said the Iranian nation bid farewell to its Leader while renewing its pledge of allegiance to the new Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei.

Qalibaf praised the Iranian people for remaining steadfast in the path of Imam Khomeini and the martyrs, saying they had not retreated "even by an inch."

He added that the massive public presence at the funeral demonstrated to the world that the Islamic Republic of Iran remains enduring and resilient, stressing that with the backing of the Iranian people, the country faces neither deadlock nor defeat.
