Muttaqi held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in Tehran on Friday on the sidelines of the farewell and funeral ceremonies for martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

The Afghan minister conveyed Afghanistan’s condolences to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, government, and people over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, members of his family, senior officials, and civilians, including children martyred in the US-Israeli attack on Iran.

Muttaqi strongly condemned the “brutal US-Zionist aggression” against Iran, praising the Iranian nation’s steadfastness and resistance in the face of the attacks.

He also stressed the need for unity among Islamic countries to confront American-Zionist plots in the region.

For his part, Araqchi expressed appreciation for the high-level Afghan delegation’s presence at the funeral ceremonies of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, thanking Afghan officials, scholars, intellectuals, and the public for their messages of sympathy and solidarity, as well as for condemning the attack against Iran.
