During talks with his Pakistani counterpart Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad on Tuesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s continuous engagement in supporting regional de-escalation and encouraging diplomatic initiatives.

The Iranian president thanked the Pakistani government for its around-the-clock efforts to strengthen peace and security in the region and highlighted Islamabad’s contribution to ongoing negotiations aimed at ending the recent war.

Pezeshkian said Iran values Pakistan’s role in promoting dialogue and expressed hope that bilateral relations would enter a new stage of expansion and witness major progress across political, economic, and regional fields.

He also extended an official invitation to President Zardari to visit Tehran, telling his counterpart that Iran regards Pakistan as a close and trusted partner and would welcome him in the Iranian capital.

For his part, President Zardari described Iran–Pakistan relations as historic and deeply rooted in shared religious, cultural, and geographical ties.

The Pakistani president also praised the resilience of the Iranian people, describing their steadfastness and resistance as a source of pride for Muslim nations and commending their determination in defending the country.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and maintaining close consultations on issues affecting the region and the Islamic world.
